I was looking through my gallery and I just can't believe I haven't posted this up yet! It was done mid 2007. My skills in 3D have definitely improved since then, but I do love the lighting of this piece.

The purpose was to create an environment that lighting has to play a major role in.

hey, i just recently bought a tutorial book on maya! i found some freeware 3D programs, and I've been trying to figure it out....photoshop i can deal with, but add a Z-Axis and i'm lost. I envy your knowledge! :worship:

It's got quite a mood to it, don't it? That mattress just looks so pathetic and worn down... and the lighting brings out the same qualities in the walls, I think.

The lighting really lends an interesting mood to this scene, especially in the shadows on the map. And the barred window is rendered fantastically.

I can see this as an opening stage in a mystery (horror, perhaps) game.

It's so exciting to see your 3d work, you have such a talent for it!
